Pretty springs near the head of the Bosna River. We enjoyed a nice walk through the cool, calm forest. Yummy and homy veal stew. I loved it… maybe I'm getting home sick?…Nah! 😜Cauliflower salad… not what we expected from the menu explanation. The veggies were frozen the defrosted before being doused in a thick dressing… meh. We loved these Klepe- Bosnian meat stuffed ravioli-like pasta with sour cream on top. Really, really good!I'm sorry I forgot to take a photo of the receipt. The meal cost about $23- a great deal!
Breakfast Macchiato and sandwich. Lol- we ordered a Croque Monsieur (classic French sandwich with ham, cheese, and béchamel on toasted baguette) and got this instead- turkey and cheese with a sun dried tomato spread and lettuce. It was not so good. Edible, I guess. The market A Mosque and a motorbike Great Bosnian Cevapi with onion, bread, and yogurt. I love this picture 😍 I bought some pretty cloth napkins from her 👍🏻Lol! Check out the name of this restaurant… familiar? We checked out the much contested "pyramids"… we can't decide if we think they're real. Most scientists believe they're natural rock formations, but they're too perfect and the construction (under the now forest) is so perfectly laid out… it really could be man made. If they are manmade, they're the largest and oldest pyramids in the world, and we climbed one of them😃👍🏻Our pyramid tour guide.
Bees getting their piece. A sadly crummy salad… the lettuce was slimy and not fresh. I sent it back 😕Really good bread. Decent roasted Cornish game Jen with potatoes and a carrot. Adam had the veal gnocchi. Decent. Not amazing. About $40… expensive for the mediocre meal. Great Macchiato from Cogito Coffee.
Traditional Slovenian fare- scrambled eggs with salami, dried tomatoes, roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin oil. Ricotta cheese spreads with pumpkin oil and herbs, toast with their famous honey and homemade jams. Very good! Slovenia's famous cake-Mom, you would LoVE this! It's like an excellent vanilla cream pie. Adam and I fought over bites 😜 SUPER good!!! We bought this at a gas station 😂Serbia's answer to Coka-Cola. Not bad, but Adam prefers Coke. Cockta is more fruity and herbal.
What a cute city! Ljubljana is such a surprise! Amazing rain fountain😳😊Our home for the night… trying some urban camping ⛺️ 😃👍🏻Union Brewery Very strange Slovenian dish- flat cake. It's a chewy bread topped with burnt pork bits and a little onion. It's sounds amazing, but is actually quite dry and tasteless. We were disappointed and didn't eat much 😞Beautiful bridges. Home.
Great local beer!Delicious German style potato salad and Cole slaw. Both were great- full of tangy Dijon mustard!Yummy little fried smelts! You eat the whole thing, head-to-tail! Ljubljana castleBeautiful views from the castle tower!
We're on our way to Slovenia! We stopped at a gas station for coffee. When we walked in, the whole place smelled like delicious simmering goulash. We had to try it! It was flavorful and nourishing. A great breakfast for about $15 👍🏻
