Weihenstephan. The oldest brewery. Ever.

We enjoyed a beautiful drive through the countryside to Weihenstephan, the oldest brewery in the world! We enjoyed a tasting of their best sellers- Pilsner, Hefeweizen, and Dunkel. They were all excellent. Then we tried the Kristallweis- a filtered wheat beer. Next we had the Korbinian- a dark, chocolaty brew. All were excellent! With lunch we ordered their very special brew, Infinium, a light, fruity, bubbly beer that drinks like champagne! Wow!

The food was really delicious, too! Adam had the selection of three sausages with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The sausages were grilled- crisp, smokey and perfect! I had the Ox cheek in Korbinian beer gravy with fresh steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. The cheeks were super tender and flavorful. The gravy was rich and beefy. What a great meal to finish our stay in Bavaria!
