I’m so glad we stopped at Aldi on our way home yesterday. We’re tired after almost 36 hours of travel in just two days. I made a salad of red lettuce and arugula with cucumbers, red bell pepper, and tomatoes with a German sausage called Debrecziner that tasted like Kielbasa, Parmesan, and a white balsamic vinaigrette. A toasted piece of brown bread with butter and salt rounded out the simple lunch.
Are the prices cheap at Aldi in Germany too? Everything looks really fresh.
Yes! We Love Aldi here and in the States, too. For €38 ($51) we got: 2 bottles of wine, bottled water, Coke, 6 eggs, 2 yogurts, butter, 3 kinds of cheese, large loaf of brown bread, sausages, smoked salmon, salami, blueberries, cherries, nectarines, 3 lemons, garlic, grape tomatoes, lettuce, sprouts, 3 red bell peppers, 3 mini cucumbers, pasta, coffee, black current gummies, and an after dinner digestive liquor. Most items, including the wine, are organic (bio). At home, we pay double- especially for organic items.
That’s incredible! That will really help with the budget:)
