It’s our last full day here in Primosten and we still have lots of little things in the refrigerator, so I made a strange but tasty pasta. Simple green salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Weird pasta- chicken, basil, peas, tomato, garlic, onion, and cottage cheese. It was actually really good. Ugly, but good. I love this scene! 😊

On our last evening in Primosten, we went out to dinner with the girls… you know the super sweet and generous ones who’ve shared their amazing luxury villa with us 😊 Special thanks to Martha for arranging it all and to Dawn who invited us! Another thanks to Kim and Alana for their sweet gifts and new friendship 😃Spectacular octopus salad. It was so tender and delicious! Marinated sardines with arugula and capers- yum! Simple, vinegary pickles.Dinner viewGrilled sea bass with Swiss chard and potatoes. The fish was super fresh and beautifully seasoned!The best dish of the night! Adam ordered the Scampi Brussa- a rich seafood broth with garlic and white wine, chock full of amazing seafood! Wow! He’s too cute! 😍The destruction 😜Walnut grappa. Soooo good!!!Brother and sister ice cream time 😜😄

We were tired and hungry after a long day swimming and sunning. Pizza delivery was just the thing😊Traditional Croatian brandy- lemon verbena infused- wowza! This stuff was interesting… not something I could drink very often 🔥 

Nothing special, but it was quick and easy! Leftover salad and grilled chicken with balsamic vinaigrette. The water and weather were way too beautiful to waste my time slaving in the kitchen for a silly lunch!

Delicious ripe melon with Dalmation cured ham, basil, and a little Croatian olive oil for good measure. Toast served with butter, honey, and sea salt 😍​

Stunning sunsets!Amazingly fresh mussels with onion, garlic, white wine, butter, and basil with crusty bread. Green salad with vinaigrette. Grilled lemon garlic chicken Mushroom risotto. 

As we were driving back home, we noticed a whole bunch of buoys in the water that looked strange. The girls told me it was a mussel farm… I HAD to stop, of course😃​​ The Mussel Man told me he had fresh mussels and oysters. I said I’ll have both please😜 He went to the water and pulled up fresh oysters, shucked them, then handed them to us right there on the dock. What a treat! They were intensely briny and oh so slurpy. One of my favorite foods. 

Amazing Roman ruins. You may recognize them from Game of Thrones 😊cute boats 🚣🏻 Great local brews!Adam had a local, traditional dish of slow roasted veal cheeks, gnocchi, and veg. It was nothing special 😔I had garlic, white wine, and fig mussels. I really like the sweet-savory combo. 

We had a couple loaves of stale bread and some other bits and pieces. The perfect ingredients for a breakfast bread pudding 😊 ​

Apricot, lavender, and bacon bread pudding. Pretty tasty!!! I can’t get over this view 😳😃👌🏻​​
