Meal #110: Lunch

Today we headed to Lac d’Aiguebelette for some fun in the sun, but first we stopped at a lovely terraced restaurant overlooking the beautiful emerald lake! Our meal was fantastic!

The chef sent out an amuse bouche – a unique carrot and cumin soup with cheesy, savory macarons! I started with the terrine of the day which was a delicious duck and pepper terrine served with fig jam, apple chutney, and cornichon. Yum! Adam had the chef’s specialty fish soup with fresh croutons and cheese. Very good. Then we both ordered the chef’s special – fresh caught Lac d’Aiguebelette white fish with a lemon cream sauce. It was served with roasted tomato and zucchini as well as a wonderful side of sauteed mushrooms! Everything was absolutely excellent! We each completely the meal with espresso.

After lunch we headed to the lake. We lounged around then rented a paddle boat for a few hours. We jumped off the boat into the spectacular emerald water, swam, drank lots of wine, ate olives, and tanned our skin to a pinky-golden brown 😉 It is Gary and Aimee’s last day in France and our last day at the chalet. I’d say we did it right!
