We rented a car and headed into fjord country- sorry no wifi. What a great decision!!! Norway is spectacularly beautiful- we’re blown away by the grandeur! We stopped on the way to Flam for lunch. We started with the salad bar. For entrees, I had the sautéed beef and mushrooms with French fried potatoes. Adam had the bacon BBQ burger. Not bad😃 

    
  

    

 

Phew… We had a long day of sightseeing and drinking… Life is hard😉 

 I made a quick dinner- pan-fried pork chops and a veggie hash made with all our leftovers. 

Tomorrow we’re heading into the mountains, so today was our last chance to try all of Oslo’s breweries. Why not tryall of them in one afternoon? ☺️ 

    
    
    

    
    
   

We spent the morning riding ferries to four different little islands near Oslo. It was a beautiful day! W really enjoyed the fjord!  

  

  
    
    
 We had a picnic while we waited for the ferry. 

I ‘m sick of this breakfast😕 I guess I don’t like muesli as much as I thought.  

We had dinner at home, like the intelligent, budget-minded people we are😃 I made salmon en papillote- salmon with dill-lemon butter over green onion, and tender little new potatoes all wrapped in foil to trap the steam and tasty juices together. All served with steamed broccoli and cauliflower. I’m a pretty good cook😋 

  

After lunch we decided to go to the opera house to walk on the roof😊 Apparently that’s what everyone does.  

  

  
  After our rooftop shananagans, we needed some refreshment. We had a solid local beer. Cold and satisfying.  
 

We went to the Norwegian National Gallery for the afternoon. What a treat! We beheld works by such artists as Kittleson, Picasso, Matisse, Monet, and Norway’s  most famous artist, Edvard Munch.  

    
    
   After the museum we walked alon the beautiful pedestrian boulevards and stopped at a lush park for lunch. We had baguettes with roast beef, cheddar, onion, arugula, butter, and mustard, chips, grapes and wild cherries, and fresh veggies. Not bad.

We had cocktails, pretzels, and some more bacon pepper cheese stuff while we made dinner and played cards. Fun night!  

   I made herb-roasted chicken with boiled new potatoes, steamed broccoli and cauliflower, and gravy. Gravy makes everything better. 😉
