Why not eat pasta carbonara for breakfast? It’s better than throwing it out… Right?  

 

We couldn’t wait. We were hungry. The bacon dogs smelled so good. Whatever.  

    
   We tried two Norwegian sodas. One was pretty good, similar to creme soda. The other was not so good. It had a bubble gum meets fruit snacks thing going on. Eeew! 

We stopped at a cute mountain inn for a snack break on the way back to Oslo.  We had a crispy “vaffel” with sour cream and strawberry jam. So yummy!!! I will definitely add sour cream to my waffle toppings list from now on!

WOW!!! What a morning! We took a ferry from Flam to Gudvagen through the Sognefjord. The fjord is breathtakingly beautiful!!! It was a cold, wet ride, but worth every minute!  

    
    
    

    
 

   
    
 

Through mountains, valleys, and tunnels, we finally made it to Aurland! We had an adorable cottage overlooking the spectacular Sognefjord! Wow!!! We packed chicken salad sandwiches, beer, and chips… All a girl needs☺️ 

    
    
 After dinner we played cards, drank more beer, and had jalapeño Ost with crunchy wasa crackers… We slept well😴

We stopped high on the mountains for a treat. We tried the Norwegian speciality Koksbolle- homemade marshmallow covered in chocolate and coconut. We actually really liked it. I’m not usually a marshmallow fan, but the soft homemade variety are superior. It was sweet and full of vanilla. The chocolate and crunchy coconut made it even better!
